Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari representative and professional driver-guide. From the airport, you will travel to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania's Northern Safari Circuit. The drive offers your first introduction to Tanzania, with views of local communities, farms and the landscapes surrounding Mount Meru.
After arriving at the lodge, check in and take time to rest after your journey. If your arrival time allows, you may enjoy a relaxed introduction to Arusha or simply prepare for the safari beginning the following morning.
After an early breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. Your journey takes you through rural Tanzania before entering the wildlife-rich park. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and enormous baobab trees.
During the game drive, explore the Tarangire River and surrounding woodland and grasslands. You may see elephants walking close to the vehicle, giraffes feeding from acacia trees, zebras and wildebeest grazing together, buffalo moving through the vegetation and impalas crossing the plains.
Predators including lions may also be encountered, while the park's diverse birdlife provides constant activity above the grasslands. After lunch, continue your afternoon game drive before leaving the park for your lodge.
After breakfast, leave for Serengeti. As you travel deeper into northern Tanzania, the landscape becomes increasingly spectacular. Upon entering Serengeti, begin your game drive through the vast plains.
Look for wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, giraffes and buffalo. Your guide will also search for predators, particularly lions, cheetahs, hyenas and leopards. Depending on the season, you may encounter areas where migration herds are concentrated. Continue towards your accommodation with game viewing along the way.
After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. This is your opportunity to explore Serengeti without rushing. Spend the day following wildlife movements and exploring different habitats.
Your guide may take you towards areas known for lion prides, cheetahs or hyenas, while searching carefully for leopards. Large herbivore herds may include wildebeest, zebra and gazelles, while giraffes, elephants and buffalo can also be encountered.
If travelling during the Great Migration, you may witness huge concentrations of wildebeest and zebra moving through the ecosystem. Return to camp after an unforgettable day.
After breakfast, travel towards Ngorongoro. Descend into the crater for an unforgettable wildlife experience. Explore the crater floor's grasslands, wetlands and woodland areas while searching for buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, gazelles, hippos, lions and hyenas.
With luck, you may encounter the endangered black rhinoceros. After the crater experience, begin your journey back to Arusha.
